Korean April 26 Animation Studio, also known as SEK Studio, is a state-owned North Korean animation studio based in Ot'an-dong, Central District, Pyongyang. The studio was founded in September 1957 as April 26 Children's Film Studio. Since the 1980s, SEK Studio has worked on outsourced animation for foreign companies, particularly from Europe and Asia. It has worked on over 250 foreign animations, though the studio's international collaborations have declined in recent years, with most known foreign work now being associated with Chinese productions. SEK Studio primarily produces animation for children in North Korea, and much of its domestic work has been described as propaganda.
