Anju

One of Karuma's servants and a major antagonist in the anime's first season.

When Anju was a young girl, she was found and raised by the monks in a buddhist village. She was a close friend of Souma Miki and soon both of them fell in love with each other, but then Karuma came, killed most of the monks and kidnapped Anju. Anju was then brainwashed into serving Karuma. Obviously, Souma Miki was one of the few monks to survive Karuma's wrath. After finding out the truth, Anju turns against Karuma but is then killed. Karuma turns her into a Hyouijuu and forces her to fight Zenki. Zenki himself gets mortally wouned, as Anju is so powerful, that he needs to used Rudra to defeat her. Fortunately, Zenki recovers and is able to fight on. Anju ultimately dies in the end.
