Reiko Asakawa

Reiko Asakawa was the main protagonist of the 1998 film adaptation of Koji Suzuki's novel Ring, also playing important roles in following films.

As a journalist, she investigates an urban legend about a mysterious video tape that kills those who watch it a week later, having heard of it once her niece perished to the curse. Through her investigation, she herself gets cursed after finding the tape and watching it out of curiosity, and seeks a way to rid herself of it before falling victim to it.
