Demian Kaien

Demian Kaien is the protagonist of Emperor of the Runeblade and the deuteragonist of The Apothecary Prince.

He currently acts as the personal guard of Lachiel Adria Magentano and accompanies him on nearly every occasion.

In the Emperor of the Runeblade novel, Demian lived as a gladiator in an underground organization due to painkiller withdrawal symptoms. However, his life changes after Lachiel's death. The Second Prince, who had just become the crown prince, subjugated the gladiator arena; so Demian escaped by chance and was able to overcome his withdrawal symptoms. At the end of the novel, he ascends to the throne as emperor.
