Fylgja

Fylgja is one of the main characters of Otr of the Flame. She is a fire spirit, who is awakened by Otr, and materializes from a piece of holy flame from the young boy's home village.

Fylgja is a spirit, with a petite, lanky upper body and a lower half that is a swirling mass of smoke and fire. She appears to have four arms, with long charcoal black hands and fingers. Her skin is the color of yellow and orange flames, and her unkempt hair has wisps of fire coming from the tips.

Fylgja does not seem to wear any kind of clothing, and her upper torso even appears to be completely bare. The only raiment she seemingly possesses is a black neckpiece, which covers part of her chest, and has the appearance of jagged pieces of charred firewood. Atop her head is a burning ring, that resembles a kettle pot handle.

As the fire spirit, Fylgja appears to have a notably upbeat and "fiery" personality. When she first awakened, she initially seemed to be unaware of certain terms that humans use, such as "spirit" and "warrior", and even described herself as a "newborn baby." This line could indicate that despite her immense power, Fylgja may have a playful, childish, and even naive side to her.

Despite this, however, Fylgja is not oblivious to the current affairs of the world and is aware of the threat that the Ice Kingdom poses. Her willingness to help the young cook, Otr, when he shared some of his breath with her, shows that she is at least amlicable towards humans, and is devoted to those that she feels have warm hearts.
