Mei Mei

Mei Mei is a member of the Shuei Performing Arts Troupe.

Mei Mei is a young woman with black hair that she keeps folded up above her shoulders. She has large, round eyes, and wears circular earrings and a tight full-body dress.

She believes herself to have fingers that are too short, and repeatedly grates her bones to try to extend them; due to this, she frequently wears bandages across her hands. She also used to believe that the angle of her jaw was too sharp, smashing in her molars to soften it.

Like other members of the Shuei Performing Arts Troupe, Mei Mei appears to be irrationally obsessed with beauty, and with being "selected" by the shenguai in the troupe. Her obsession runs so deep that she repeatedly causes herself permanent physical harm so she can appear "more beautiful", including grating her finger bones, smashing her molars, and starving herself. Huazi and Chiyou believe this unnatural obsession is a result of the shenguai's influence.
