Ludwig Magenta
루드비히 마ì 타
Ludwig is the youngest prince. Despite this, he rose to the throne, but became known as a tyrant. In the first life, the dying words of his wife, Olive, left a deep impact on him: "If you wanted me to love you, you should have at least behaved like a decent person."
After traveling back in time, Ludwig takes these words to heart and tries to reform himself into a decent person.
Ludwig is a vessel in an ancient experiment that allows the experimenter to live forever. This happened when he was a newborn infant.
To perform the experiment, the experimenter (in this case, the emperor) must imprint their mana on the soul of a newborn. This causes the subject to have dissociative memory loss. In the next step, the experimenter must psychologically manipulate the subject so that they trust the experimenter. Lastly, the experimenter must cause a mental break by making the subject believe that they killed those important to them when in a dissociative state. By doing so, the subject's soul leaves its body (ultimately killing them) but leaving the husk of a body that recognizes the experimenter's mana. At this point, the experimenter can transfer their soul into the new husk.
In the first timeline, after Ludwig's death, the collision of the corrupted power of the soul experiment clashed with the holy power of the guardian stone of the royal palace. This cataclysm destroyed nearly everything, leaving very few alive. With the world in ruins, Lythian Goldrote sacrificed the majority of her magic to turn back time.
