Commander
Gender: Male
Affiliations: Ark, Central Government
Occupation: Commander of Counters
The protagonist (also known as the commander) is a newly-graduated Commander from the military academy who would later be put in charge of the Nikke squad "Counters." Following the many unbelievable feats he has accrued throughout the mission on the surface, the protagonist would make a name for himself in the Ark as the story progresses.
He is the main protagonist of Goddess of Victory: Nikke.
The Commander of the Counters is a male commander of the military forces of the Ark. He has no recollections of his past, and can't even remember if he has any family.
He graduated from the military academy writing a thesis like other graduates, although his graduation thesis was considered terrible. Regardless, he can only vaguely recall faint echoes of his time at the military academy before he was sent out to the surface. On occasions, he receives visions of talking to a little girl in a hospital.
For a human, the protagonist excels physically far more than a regular human, boasting physical abilities beyond normal such as lifting a Nikke without help, which is already an astonishing feat as Nikkes weigh far more than a human as well as the protagonist is also capable of wielding a cumbersome anti-ship rifle. He is also gifted with the Rh X blood, the same blood type used in manufacturing Vapaus. In addition to his special blood type, the protagonist can regenerate wounds fairly quickly which became more apparent later on, albeit the protagonist suffers from what-would-be fatal wounds in earlier instances. His normal physique is comparable to a professional athelete, although in some situations, his physical attribute can rival a Nikke's.
The Commander is a fairly tall man with sharp features, and typically wears the Ark commander's dark brown military uniform. His physical appearance was only seen in promotional materials or referenced by the in-universe plushies made in his likeness. Story wise, his first full in-game depiction comes in a cutscene in Chapter 32 and his first SD model is seen at the event, Star Anis's Event Field, albeit having no voice-overs unlike most characters.
The commander's personality is by and large a blank slate, save for a strong sense of justice and empathy for both humans (except Syuen, for good reason) and Nikkes (except Crow). He is, however, prone to bouts of eccentricity when it comes to empathizing or bonding with Nikkes, from dressing like a polar bear for Neve to becoming a cheesy Hollywood-style producer for Noise.
