A Japanese "penny dreadful" novelist traveling across Cho-sen researching for his new novel after finding a story about "The Miko in Black" in a second-hand bookstore.

After bumps into Choi (twice), she discovers his ability to attract ghosts and agrees to let him accompany her in future jobs.
