Tonari no Ren-kun wa Chotto Kowai began as a web comic released on the author's Twitter and pixiv accounts from April 17, 2022 to November 27, 2022, and was serialized on B-BOY P! from December 6, 2022 to July 19, 2023. The series was published digitally in English as My Classmate Ren-kun Is Kinda Scary by Animate International on November 5, 2024.
