Katsuhito Akiyama

Birth place: Hokkaido, Japan

Mr. Akiyama was born on January 29, 1950 at Hokkaido, Japan. He was a director of documentary films before he entered the anime industry. The first anime he worked on was "Protector." Later, he worked as animation director at "Jarinko Chie" and "Macross" in the Green Box and Anime Friend Studios. Mr. Akiyama joined AIC in 1986 and created the classic anime "Gall Force" and "Bubblegum Crisis." He is also famous as director of "Ai No Kusabi", "El Hazard" TV series and "Magical Girl Pretty Samy" TV series.

Mr. Akiyama's latest anime work is "Armitage-Dual Matrix."
